Supermarket meat issues highlight benefits of trusted butchers

A number of well-known supermarkets have been called out for questionable contents in their beef products, making consumers reluctant to trust certain chains. This has, however, led to a rise in the use of online butchers as a trusted source of meat.

Online butchers have also seen an increase in business with many people enjoying the choice and information they have access to on the internet.

The low price of supermarket meat has forced more than 10,000 butchers on the high street to close in the last 30 years. It is thought, however, that the recent scandal may spark something of a revival.
